Posting Rules

Our Approach

We're pretty chilled here. Post good deals, be respectful, don't spam, and don't try to game the system. That's basically it.

These aren't a legal document—just guidelines to keep things fair and useful for everyone. We trust you to use good judgment, and we'll do the same.

What Makes a Good Deal

A good deal is simple: something costs less than it normally does, and Canadians can actually buy it.

Your deal should be:

  • Available in Canada — Online or in-store
  • A genuine discount, sale, or freebie — Not just regular pricing
  • From a legit retailer or seller — No sketchy sites
  • Posted because you think others would want it — Not because you profit from it

Helpful extras (not required):

  • Photos for in-store deals
  • Price history or comparison
  • Promo codes included
  • Expiry date if you know it

What We Don't Allow

The Obvious Stuff

  • Illegal products or services
  • Sexual or adult content
  • Weapons and firearms
  • Drugs and controlled substances
  • Counterfeit or fake goods
  • Scam or phishing links

Not Actually a Deal

  • Full price items, even if they're hard to find
  • Things that are always free (apps, games that never cost anything)
  • New product announcements without a discount
  • "Deals" that require signing up for a credit card or loan

Not Cool Behaviour

  • Posting your own store's deals (we'll notice)
  • Referral codes (that's not a deal, that's you getting a kickback)
  • Spamming by reposting deals that already exist or recently expired
  • Spamming by posting the same product from a different store when it's already up

Marketplace Sellers

When a deal is from a third-party seller on Amazon, eBay, Walmart Marketplace, or similar—we need to make sure they're legit.

Platform Minimum Reviews Minimum Rating
Amazon.ca 300+ 90%+
eBay 300+ 90%+
Walmart Marketplace 300+ 90%+
AliExpress 300+ 95%+

This protects everyone from sketchy sellers. If the seller doesn't meet these thresholds, the deal may be removed.

Expired Deals

The community marks deals as expired. Once enough people flag it, the deal gets marked. If you spot a dead deal, help out and report it.

When We Remove Deals

We don't go hunting for reasons to take things down. But we will remove deals that:

  • Break any of the rules above
  • Are reported as expired or unavailable
  • Come from sellers with sketchy reviews
  • Look like self-promotion
  • Are duplicates or reposts (that's spam)

If Your Deal Gets Removed

Mistakes happen. If you think we got it wrong, reach out through the Contact page and we'll take another look.

Be Respectful

We're not keeping score or handing out strikes. Just be a decent human. If you're consistently causing problems, we'll deal with it—but we'd rather not have to.

This is a community. Let's keep it that way.
